This dream home boasts a Japanese-inspired courtyard set within natural granite. Originally designed by Hamish McIntyre in 1961 and later reimagined by Russell Hollingsworth in the 1970s, it seamlessly blends classic mid-century modernism with contemporary updates that enhance its connection to the surrounding landscape.
McIntyre’s original vision was a post-and-beam retreat elevated on natural granite rock formations. Hollingsworth, in his reinterpretation, introduced organic curves that brought warmth and flow, harmonizing the structure with nature.
On a generous 14,977-square-foot lot, the home offers ample patios and decks perfect for relaxation. Expansive windows throughout frame stunning views, showcasing the ocean to the south and the serene Japanese-inspired courtyard to the north. The current owners acquired the property from the original family in 2021 and thoughtfully renovated it in 2024, preserving many of its original features and layout. The most significant improvements include stabilizing the house and updating the kitchen and bathrooms. Additionally, they restored the street-level front garden.
