Project Details
Float House Rooftop
In this episode, we met Sara and Paul, enthusiasts of lakeside living, who acquired a floating house five years ago. They aim to create a tranquil retreat for post-work relaxation and a welcoming venue for hosting guests. Faced with space constraints, the only solution for expanding their living area is a renovation project focused on repurposing their neglected rooftop deck, untouched for the past five years.
Before Transformation
The primary concern regarding the deck revolves around its safety issues. The compromised staircase, perilous rope railing, and the absence of sunshade discourage the couple from spending time on the rooftop.
After transformation
The once unpleasant rooftop deck has been transformed into an inviting space featuring a setup that ensures privacy, a contemporary bar, and a welcoming lounge area perfect for gatherings and parties.

Central to this project’s outdoor living space design is our stunning ZEN 34 Fire Bowl, a modern round fire pit meticulously crafted to provide comforting warmth on cold nights.
Zen 34 is at 12″ height which maximizes the heat efficiency (since heat rises, the lower the fire pit the more heat you’ll feel) and would be a better choice if you want to warm the space at a lower profile.
